Uttarakhand Mandal of America (UMA) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization registered in the year 2006 in San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, under the Laws of the State of California, United State of America.
The objective of UMA is to nurture a strong network of Indian diaspora around the rich and diverse heritage of Uttarakhand state of India. It also includes to develop and implement impactful social upliftment program in Uttarakhand, India

In the late 1990s an informal social network group was formed in San Francisco, California by families living in the area with some connection to hill region of Uttar Pradesh, India.
